From 2 July through 11 October 2026, the thirteenth edition of Sonsbeek will take place, Europe’s oldest recurring exhibition for art in public space. Sonsbeek 2026 offers a compact yet in-depth experience that can be enjoyed in a single day. The historic Park Sonsbeek forms the heart of the manifestation, complemented by presentations at partner institutions.

This exhibition depicts the start of the battle for the Rhine Bridge at Arnhem. The fighting subsequently shifted to the Betuwe, where heavy combat took place until 18 April 1945, involving soldiers of 16 different nationalities.

The museum displays various uniforms, weapons, and other artifacts, often accompanied by personal stories and photographs. It also features a garden displaying recovered wartime relics and a large map of the Betuwe marking key WWII locations.

Discover the Hanseatic city of Doesburg on a walking tour past beautiful facades, over 150 monuments, and the well-preserved medieval street layout. Doesburg was granted city rights as early as 1237—more than 60 years before Amsterdam.

The walk lasts 1.5 hours and takes place every Saturday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. During school holidays, additional walks are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

The Fairy Tale Festival is the premier children's festival held during the autumn break in Arnhem and the surrounding area. Every year during the autumn holidays, the festival brings fairy tales—in the broadest sense of the word—to life with a program packed with performances, workshops, scavenger hunts, and other activities for the whole family.

This autumn, the Fairy Tale Festival takes place from October 17 to 25. With over 50 activities spread across more than 25 locations, there is plenty to experience—from theaters and libraries to the city center, residential neighborhoods, community centers, the petting zoo, and unique heritage sites such as castles.

Cycling club ‘Tour de Force’ is once again hosting its annual Goudsberg mountain bike ride. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while cycling a beautiful route on and around the Goudsberg in Lunteren. This popular MTB ride takes you along the finest trails around the Goudsberg in Lunteren. 

Choose from routes of 30, 45, or 60 kilometers and enjoy the woods, changes in elevation, and the fresh air of the Veluwe. The start is between 9:00 and 10:00 AM at Café Bar “Hent uut ’t Zaand” in Wekerom. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. 🚵‍♂️🌲

The fifth edition of 'Burr’len bij De Koepel' is scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, October 17. This free event, featuring game meat, takes place in the small square in front of the De Koepel observation tower and runs throughout the afternoon, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Have you ever walked across shifting sands, immersed in an oasis of silence? Come join an evening walk by full moon across the Mosselse Zand, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet.

Amidst the beauty of the expansive landscape, you will encounter trees with unusual shapes. Observe the sand ridges to discover the prevailing wind direction and seek out sheltered spots. Discover temperature variations compared to the surrounding area and experience the extreme difference between day and night temperatures. During the walk, you will also experience the sounds of the night created by the local wildlife.

This two-hour walk is suitable for people with good walking stamina and for children aged 12 and up who enjoy hiking. Advance reservation is required.
